Product Details

ME4920 is a dual N-channel enhancement-mode power MOSFET designed for low-voltage power switching and power-management applications. The device integrates two independent N-channel MOSFETs in a compact SOP-8 package, allowing designers to implement multiple switching functions while reducing PCB space and external component requirements.

The device is based on a high-density DMOS trench structure designed to achieve low on-state resistance and efficient switching performance. The dual-MOSFET configuration makes ME4920 suitable for applications where two N-channel switching devices are required within a single surface-mount package.

ME4920 has a drain-to-source voltage rating of 30V and supports a continuous drain current of up to 6A at an ambient temperature of 25°C under the specified thermal conditions. At 70°C, the specified continuous drain current is reduced to 4.8A. The device also supports a pulsed drain current of up to 24A under the specified conditions.

The MOSFETs provide a maximum on-resistance of approximately 35mΩ at a 10V gate-source voltage and 45mΩ at a 4.5V gate-source voltage. The relatively low RDS(on) helps reduce conduction losses when the MOSFETs are used in suitable power-switching circuits.

The gate-source voltage rating is ±20V, providing the required margin for appropriate gate-drive circuit designs. The device also has a maximum power dissipation rating of 2W at 25°C under the specified mounting conditions. Thermal performance depends on PCB copper area, board construction, ambient temperature and the actual power dissipated by the MOSFETs.

ME4920 is designed for low-voltage power applications where compact packaging and low conduction loss are important. The dual N-channel structure can be used in switching stages, load-switching circuits and power-management architectures that require two MOSFET channels.

Typical applications include DC DC converters, battery-powered systems, portable electronic equipment, notebook computer power management and load-switching circuits. The device can also be used in other low-voltage electronic equipment where dual N-channel MOSFETs with a 30V drain-source rating are suitable.

The SOP-8 package provides a compact surface-mount footprint while accommodating the two integrated MOSFET channels. The package pin arrangement separates the gate, source and drain connections of the two MOSFETs, allowing them to be configured independently within the target circuit.

For battery-powered equipment, ME4920 can be used for load switching and power-path control where the voltage and current requirements fall within the device ratings. In DC DC converter designs, the low RDS(on) characteristics can help reduce conduction losses when appropriate gate-drive voltage and thermal conditions are maintained.

When designing with ME4920, engineers should evaluate the actual drain current, gate-drive voltage, switching frequency, power dissipation, PCB thermal resistance and transient voltage conditions. The 6A continuous-current specification depends on the stated thermal conditions and should not be treated as a universal current rating independent of PCB design or operating temperature.
