Product Details

LM2903BIDR is a dual low-power voltage comparator designed for voltage monitoring, threshold detection and signal-level comparison in electronic circuits. The device integrates two independent voltage comparators in a compact 8-SOIC package, allowing multiple comparison functions to be implemented with a single integrated circuit.

The comparator architecture is designed to operate from a wide supply voltage range and can be used with either single-supply or dual-supply configurations. The device supports single-supply operation from 2V to 36V according to the standard LM2903B operating range, while the B-grade version provides an increased maximum operating voltage of up to 40V under the specified conditions.

LM2903BIDR features low power consumption, making it suitable for circuits where the comparator must remain active while minimizing overall system power requirements. The device has low input bias current and low input offset current, helping maintain stable comparison performance when connected to sensing networks and high-impedance signal sources.

The input common-mode voltage range includes the negative supply rail, which allows the comparator to monitor signals close to ground when operating from a single supply. This characteristic simplifies circuit design for many low-voltage monitoring and control applications.

The outputs use an open-collector configuration, allowing the comparator outputs to interface with different logic circuits through appropriate external pull-up arrangements. This makes LM2903BIDR suitable for level detection, switching control and interface circuits where the comparison result must be transferred to a digital control system.

LM2903BIDR can be used in threshold detector circuits to determine whether an input signal is above or below a defined reference voltage. It can also be applied to level-shifting circuits, sampling circuits, peak and zero-crossing detection, and other signal-conditioning functions.

The device is supplied in an 8-SOIC surface-mount package, providing a compact solution for PCB designs where two independent comparator channels are required. Its combination of dual comparator channels, low power consumption, wide supply operation and flexible output configuration makes it useful across industrial, automotive and embedded electronic systems.

Typical applications include voltage monitoring, battery-related sensing, power-supply supervision, signal conditioning, level detection, automotive electronics and industrial control circuits. Designers can combine the two comparator channels with external resistors, reference sources and feedback networks to create application-specific monitoring and switching functions.

When designing with LM2903BIDR, engineers should verify the required input common-mode range, supply voltage, reference thresholds, output pull-up configuration and operating temperature against the application requirements and the latest device documentation.
