Nordic Chip-to-cloud Solution Enables AI-assisted Workflows Across Entire Product Lifecycle

Nordic Semiconductor has unveiled a groundbreaking AI-assisted chip-to-cloud solution designed to transform wireless IoT development. The platform is the first in the wireless IoT industry to enable AI-assisted workflows across every stage of the product lifecycle—from initial prototyping and software development to deployment, monitoring, and fleet management.

The new solution integrates Nordic's hardware, software, and cloud ecosystem, allowing developers to leverage artificial intelligence throughout the entire IoT development process.

Accelerating IoT Development with AI

Nordic's AI-assisted platform provides developers with several key advantages:

  • Faster prototyping from concept to proof-of-concept using Nordic development kits

  • More accurate AI-generated code with fewer iterations

  • Reduced token consumption and development costs

  • Improved software reliability and development efficiency

  • AI-powered root-cause analysis and debugging for deployed devices

By combining AI assistants with Nordic's development environment, engineers can streamline complex tasks such as SDK migration, custom board bring-up, and troubleshooting field-deployed devices.

AI Assistance Beyond the Code Editor

Unlike many AI development tools that focus solely on code generation, Nordic extends AI support across the complete wireless IoT solution stack.

The company’s integrated approach connects hardware platforms, software development kits (SDKs), and cloud services into a unified ecosystem. This enables developers to use AI throughout product design, production handover, deployment, and fleet operations.

According to Nordic, the solution works seamlessly with developers' preferred AI assistants through Nordic MCP servers, providing contextual access to development resources and device information.

Nordic's Vision for Next-Generation IoT Development

Vegard Wollan, CEO of Nordic Semiconductor, emphasized the company's commitment to improving the developer experience in low-power wireless IoT.

Nordic's vision is to enhance developer productivity through AI-assisted workflows rather than replace engineering expertise. By embedding AI capabilities throughout the development lifecycle, the company aims to help developers build, deploy, and maintain IoT solutions more efficiently.

Jo Uthus, EVP Marketing and Developer Experience at Nordic Semiconductor, highlighted how the platform simplifies traditionally challenging development tasks. By combining AI assistants with Nordic-specific knowledge and tools, developers can resolve issues faster and maintain continuity throughout the product lifecycle.

Enabling Smarter Connected Devices

As AI adoption continues to grow across the embedded systems industry, Nordic's chip-to-cloud platform represents a significant step toward intelligent IoT development. The solution empowers developers to create more reliable, scalable, and efficient wireless IoT products while reducing development complexity and operational overhead.

With AI integrated across prototyping, software development, deployment, and fleet management, Nordic Semiconductor is positioning itself at the forefront of next-generation low-power wireless IoT innovation.
