LIFCL-17-9MG121C CrossLink-NX FPGA for Embedded Vision


LIFCL-17-9MG121C is a Lattice CrossLink-NX FPGA designed for compact embedded systems that need programmable logic, high-speed connectivity and efficient data processing. The device combines 17,000 logic cells with 72 I/O, 442,368 bits of RAM and a compact 121-CSFBGA package.

With its -9 speed grade and CrossLink-NX architecture, LIFCL-17-9MG121C is well suited to applications involving camera interfaces, display bridging, sensor aggregation and other embedded systems where board space and processing flexibility are both important.

17K Logic Cells for Programmable Processing

The LIFCL-17-9MG121C provides 17,000 logic cells arranged in 4,250 LABs/CLBs. This logic capacity gives designers room to implement custom control functions, interface conversion, data routing and parallel processing inside the FPGA fabric.

The device includes 442,368 total RAM bits, providing on-chip storage for buffering and intermediate data processing. Keeping frequently used data inside the FPGA can reduce dependence on external memory and simplify system architecture.

-9 Speed Grade for Faster Logic

The -9 designation identifies the higher-performance speed grade within the LIFCL-17 CrossLink-NX family. This makes LIFCL-17-9MG121C an appropriate choice when FPGA timing performance is an important part of the design.

The programmable architecture can be used to build parallel data paths for sensor information, video streams and interface conversion. This approach is particularly useful in embedded applications where data needs to move between several interfaces with low processing latency.

Compact 121-CSFBGA Package

One of the most notable characteristics of LIFCL-17-9MG121C is its small package. The device uses a 121-CSFBGA package measuring approximately 6 mm × 6 mm.

The compact footprint helps reduce PCB area while still providing 72 I/O. This makes the device attractive for space-constrained products such as camera modules, portable equipment, compact controllers and embedded vision hardware.

The package also uses surface-mount technology, allowing it to be integrated into modern high-density PCB designs.

CrossLink-NX for Camera and Display Interfaces

CrossLink-NX FPGAs are positioned for embedded vision and connectivity applications. LIFCL-17-9MG121C integrates dedicated interface resources with programmable logic, allowing designers to process and route data between sensors, processors and displays.

The architecture supports high-speed MIPI D-PHY connectivity, making the device suitable for camera and display applications. It can also be used for sensor aggregation, sensor duplication and protocol bridging.

Instead of using separate fixed-function devices for every interface requirement, designers can implement customized processing and conversion logic within the FPGA.

Low-Power 28 nm FD-SOI Architecture

LIFCL-17-9MG121C is based on the Lattice Nexus platform and uses 28 nm FD-SOI technology. The architecture was developed with low-power operation, compact implementation and fast startup in mind.

The device operates from a core supply in the approximately 0.95 V to 1.05 V range, with a nominal supply around 1 V. This low-voltage architecture can help reduce power consumption in compact embedded equipment where thermal and energy budgets are limited.

Commercial Temperature Operation

The LIFCL-17-9MG121C is a commercial-temperature device with an operating junction temperature range of 0°C to 85°C. It is therefore suitable for many consumer, embedded computing, imaging and indoor industrial applications operating within controlled temperature conditions.

For equipment requiring a wider temperature range, designers can evaluate industrial versions within the CrossLink-NX family.

Embedded Vision and Interface Applications

The combination of programmable logic, integrated memory, high-speed interface resources and a small package gives LIFCL-17-9MG121C a strong fit for embedded vision designs.
